Bio
Faeryn Fire began her hoop dance journey three years ago after attending Burning Man and witnessing so many inspirational hoop dancers on the playa. Sara Munro (Flame Fatale) and KiT of Santa Barbara were her first teachers, and they gave her the kick start she needed to launch headlong into full-hearted hoop-obsession. For the last two years she has been studying hoop dance on her own, taking inspiration from Rich Porter, Shakti Sunfire, and Brecken Rivera, to name a few, while also listening to an internal wisdom and curiosity within the hoop. Faeryn Fire is also a devoted yoga practitioner and has recently obtained her 500 hr Yoga Alliance Yoga Teachers Training certification from Paramanand Ashram in Indore, India. Meditation in motion is Faeryn Fire’s hoop dance specialty and the meditation and yoga training she received in India has only served to deepen this practice.
Faeryn Fire feels an eternal bliss coarse through her when she steps inside her hoops. This internal serenity emanates out of her being as she spins and steps in graceful harmony with the rhythm. Spreading hoop love has become one of her personal passions and a powerful driving force within her artistic career. An adept event planner, Faeryn has produced several circus shows in Santa Barbara, California, with the community circus group Berzercus the Isla Vista Circus. While living in Oakland, she coordinated a free form creativity circus event titled The Visionary Playground which invited all attendees to participate in movement workshops, and creative exercises and games. Faeryn has been traveling across Europe, East Asia, Australia, India and Nepal for the last year, taking this time to study her hoop practice, learn new methods of healing and dance, and test herself to come to know her true strength.
